FUNDAMENTALS ASL Classes are designed for students with no previous ASL experience or for students that have very little knowledge of ASL beyond the alphabet and a few basic words. These class are your starting point on your journey of learning ASL and is recommended for all students. This class is instructed with both voice on and voice off instruction. In these class you can expect to learn the basic concepts on the following topics:
History of ASL Introduction to Deaf Culture 5 Parameters of ASL How the body is set up in ASL ASL Alphabet and the importance of Fingerspelling Numbers up 99 Family Signs Pronouns Wh Questions Color Signs Basic Conversational Phrases Introduction to Verbs and Vocabulary related to categories of food, health and animals Introduction to Syntax and Grammar rules in ASL |
